Receiving & Responding to Leads From Your Website

So you now have a great website for your local business. And it is sending you inquiries and customers via email. Great. Now what?

Now you need to handle those email inquiries properly

Reply to all email leads as soon as possible! That's important.

Web users are accustomed to and rather annoyed with websites that take days and weeks to respond to inquiries made via the web. And they are also surprisingly impressed when they receive a quick response. Use this to your advantage.

Replying quickly catches them while the thought of contacting your business is still fresh in their mind. It will create a positive experience and it will certainly increase the likelihood of making the sale.

Check your email box daily and reply to potential leads as soon as you can.

If they provide a phone number call them instead of emailing back. Get personal with them via the phone right off the bat if you can. Phone contact is also a more efficient method of screening or qualifying inquiries to determine who are serious customers and who might just be tire kicking or price shopping.

If you use a personal email device, like a Blackberry or cell phone with email capabilities, you can really impress them and reply within minutes.

If your writing skills are not great, don't reply by email. Again, phone them.

Be sure your email contact form includes a field for their phone number so you get it with the email.
